Young, innovative scientists or food technologists are sought for the two ICM Agrifood Awards. One female and one male winner will each receive a cash prize of $5000. NATIONAL AG OPPORTUNITY
Applications are now open for the $14.9m national Farming Together program. This Federal Government initiative is a two-year campaign for primary producers and processors to collaborate and claim marketplace power.
Any Australian citizen who farms within the ATO-recognised guidelines can register to receive a free one-on-one consultation to discuss their opportunities and appetite to create a successful collaborative group.  This could be either as a co-operative, as a collective bargaining entity or as a less-formal collaborative group. Existing groupings may also apply.

$35m FOR IRRIGATION UPGRADES
Irrigators in the Murray Darling Basin can apply for funding through the Commonwealth On-Farm Further Irrigation Efficiency Program for irrigation infrastructure upgrades and other on-farm water efficiency activities. Funding will be up to 1.75 times the advertised water value.  Up to $35m is available. A pilot has been launched for SA, with a total funding pool of $15m. SUPPLY CHAIN SMARTS ON OFFER
The Australian Government’s Supply Chain Facilitation Assistance program offers free access to a skilled advisor to strengthen supply chains and improve access new markets. You must have been trading in at least three successive years with turnover (or operating expenditure) in the current, or one of the last two financial years, of more than $1.5m ($750,000 for applicants from remote or northern Australia), however producers not meeting eligibility rules can still register for information eventsMore? EXPORT GRANTS AVAILABLE
Australian Government grants are available to promote cooperation in accessing international markets. Applications may be submitted for projects valued from $55,000 to $1.65m (GST inclusive). DIGITAL SURVEY FOR FARMERS
A national survey on the needs and issues using digital technology and agricultural data. A national online survey is being conducted by the CSIRO and the Department of the Environment and Energy, asking people with a long-term (>10 year) relationship with a piece of land to share observations about the features that have changed and those that haven’t. WATER REBATE SCHEME
The WA Department of Water is offering help for commercial farmers in a dryland agricultural district receiving less than 600mm average annual rainfall through the Farm Water Rebate Scheme. it is designed to encourage commercial farmers to develop additional farm water supplies. WA’s Royalties for Regions initiative offer two types of grants.
